The new story of Araketu


Afro bloco (percussion group) from Bahia,Brazil. Founded in 1980, originated the Banda Ara Ketu in 1989.

Before enjoying hits in Brazil, the band engaged in successful tours outside of the country with their African-like drumming mixed with synthesizers, samplers and electronic beats. A vocalist and a brass section were added to the group. The first album, "Ara Ketu", was only released in Europe. In Brazil, they become known in 1994, with "Ara Ketu Bom Demais". "Ara Ketu ao Vivo", from 1998, already flirting with the pop pagode, sold over 2 million copies. The band was comanded Bloco Ara Ketu is still working in Bahia, mainly during carnival. 

The Araketu Band has many years succes, is almost 25 years, the band was commanded by Tatau, that after the 2008 carnival decided to follow alone career. Today the Band is commanded by the young Larissa Luz only 20 years old.She is making pretty for where it passes.The AraKetu Band, starts to count a new history from now. After 18 years, the band gains new formation. The singer of marcante voice faces the challenge to command the considered band one of the great names of Brazilian music and first black group bahian to present an electric guitar and to mix percussion with electronics. If to depend on the support of the bahian artists, the girl who left the Company of International Dance - Interart, already is a success. 

Daniela Mercury, Netinho, Alexander Guedes, Tuca Fernandes, Manno Góes, Vovô of the Ilê, Saul Barbosa,Tonho Substance, Carla Cristina, Vadinho of the Chiclete and Carlinhos Brown had been to confer the performance of Larissa that made one pocket show for the guests. With a white gold bracelet with the symbol of Ara Ketu, Larissa went up to stage declaiming Cecília Meireles: " the true artist is accurately the opposite of this picture so divulged how much unjust, the true artist is faithful its vocação". In palco Larissa Luz it also showed to talent and attitude. Touching, and well, a guitar of steel it sang Good Luck of Vanessa da Mata and Ben Harper. the Band Ara Ketu has in its current formation experienced and creative musicians as Técio Guimarães (saxofone and musical direction), Birro Pacheco (guitar), Robinson Wedge (Drum), Natinho (Bass), Hugo Sanbone (trombone), Rudney Axe (trompete), Diego Assis (keyboard), Kaboduca (percussion), Kaboré (percussion), Andres Júnior (percussion), Ivanzinho (percussion) and Andréa Costalima (backing vocal).
